Terms of Service
Last updated: 2025-12-11
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of Susurra (the “Service” or the “Bot”), including our Discord bot, web dashboard, and related features. By adding the Bot to your Discord server (a “server”) or by using the web dashboard, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organization or server, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.
1. Description of the Service
Susurra provides AI-assisted chat responses in channels explicitly enabled by server administrators, as well as optional features including (a) emoji-based role management on configured embeds, and (b) anti-spam verification using an embedded flow and a custom CAPTCHA challenge. A web dashboard allows administrators to configure settings (e.g., enabled channels, response frequency, log channel, and premium features).
2. Your relationship with Discord
The Service operates on Discord. Your use of Discord is governed by Discord’s own Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Developer policies. We are not responsible for Discord’s platform or outages. You must comply with all applicable Discord terms and policies at all times.
3. Admin responsibilities and consent
- Server administrators decide whether to enable the Bot and which channels to allow for AI responses.
- Admins are responsible for ensuring that using the Bot complies with applicable law and their community rules, including notifying members as required.
- Admins control whether to enable emoji-based role management and verification features; when disabled, the Bot will not process reactions or verification events for that server.
4. User responsibilities
- Do not use the Service to post or generate content that violates law, infringes rights, or breaches Discord’s policies.
- Do not attempt to bypass verification, spam, probe for vulnerabilities, or reverse engineer the Service.
- Do not use the Service to collect or attempt to deanonymize other users.
5. AI output and moderation
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, or biased. You should not rely on AI output for professional advice. Server administrators are responsible for moderating AI output within their communities. We may implement rate limits or safety filters and may refuse prompts that violate these Terms or Discord’s policies.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information, including the 24-hour cache of message context in enabled channels and the limited metadata we store for configuration and billing. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to the practices in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. You can access the policy at the “Privacy” link in the app navigation.
7. Permissions and features
The Bot may request certain Discord permissions to support its features:
- AI chat: View Channels, Read Message History, Send Messages, and (when enabled) Message Content intent for configured channels only.
- Emoji role management: Add Reactions, Manage Roles (for specific, admin-configured role assignments on embeds), Read Message History.
- Anti-spam verification with CAPTCHA: Send Messages, Manage Roles (to grant a “verified” role), and View Channels in a designated verification channel.
- Optional logging: Embed Links to post log embeds to a chosen log channel.
Admins should enable only the features they need and adjust permissions accordingly. The Bot is designed to operate under least-privilege principles where feasible. Details about data use for these features are provided in the Privacy Policy.
8. Credits, subscriptions, and billing
- AI Credits: The Service may require AI credits to generate responses. Credits can be topped up via Stripe checkout.
- Premium subscription: Premium may offer benefits such as monthly credit grants and customization. Subscription billing is handled by Stripe.
- Pricing and taxes: Prices are shown during checkout. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
- Refunds: Except where required by law, purchases are non-refundable. If you experience issues, contact support; we may, at our discretion, issue goodwill adjustments.
- Chargebacks and fraud: We may suspend or terminate access for suspected fraud or chargebacks.
9. Acceptable use
- No illegal, harassing, hateful, or infringing content.
- No attempts to exploit, abuse, or disrupt the Service, including excessive rate limits or automated spam.
- No data scraping outside of intended functionality, and no collection of personal data from users without consent.
- Follow all Discord community and platform rules.
10. Service changes and availability
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may limit or suspend the Service for maintenance, security, legal, or technical reasons. We are not liable for outages or data loss caused by Discord or third-party providers.
11. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Service, including software, documentation, and branding. You retain rights in your content as permitted by Discord’s terms. Do not use our trademarks without prior written permission.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE 3 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time with or without notice, including for violations of these Terms, legal requirements, non-payment, or risk of harm to others. Upon termination, certain provisions survive, including Sections 11–16.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be brought exclusively in the courts located in that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by law. Where arbitration or alternative dispute resolution is required by local law, we will comply with such requirements.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
